GAINING
GROUP ENDORSEMENTS
One
way to promote the campaign is to gain endorsements from professional
activist groups (e.g., Psychologists for Social Responsibility), academic
discipline groups (e.g. Division 9 of the American Psychological Association),
political activist groups (e.g. United for a Fair Economy), and campus
groups (e.g. the faculty-staff union of the Massachusetts Community College
system). We gained such endorsements in the previous campaign, which helped
establish the Social Choice Account.
Here
are a few suggestions and other ideas relevant to gaining endorsements
and associated support.
·
Send groups the basic description of the campaign linked from the first
page of the website:The Call to Action linked to on the opening web page
gives that basic description.
· Ask endorsing groups to send their endorsing letter to us, and
to
Herbert Allison, CEO, and the TIAA-CREF trustees, 730 Third Ave., New
York, NY 10017-3206.
· Ask groups to publicize their endorsement via whatever outlets
possible, for instance in their newsletter. Letters from individuals with
or without TIAA-CREF accounts are welcome.
· Ask groups to request that their members contact TIAA-CREF
individually. (See the basic description of the campaign.) Thanks for
your help and keep us informed. If you need further information about
the campaign, please contact us.
